Land ho...

The Woods is one of those records where 20 years from now someone will be writing a little book about how it changed their life. It's filled with moments: Corin shrieking to be heard over the unfathomable din of "The Fox". "Jumpers" suddenly bursting into a frenzy out of nowhere. More shrieking in "Wilderness". The static in "Modern Girl" (or maybe my speakers just can't handle it?). The utter ferocity of "Entertain" followed by the pop of "Rollercoaster". Moments like that. There's absolutely no legitimate reason why you haven't bought it yet; stop embarrassing yourself.

Sith: Still the one. If I were filling out an essay about myself on an online dating service, it would simply say this: "Star Wars rules; everything else is stupid. Love it or leave it, ladies." And you'll never know if maybe I really actually have done that, because I'll never tell.

Phils are heating up. Or are they? They mystify me, as always. They are no longer the worst Phillies team I've ever seen (I'll give it to 2000... for now), but the season's still young.

Hey, you know what's good?

Revenge of the Sith. Revenge of the Sith is, like, really, really good. It's like if there was a really, really good movie you could go to a theater and see; that's exactly what it's like. Fun, exciting, thought-provoking, beautifully designed and directed, and genuinely chilling and disturbing. Speaking of which, don't even get me started on how good Revenge of the Sith is.

How many times will I see it this summer? I saw Episodes I and II three times each, so a minimum of three looks likely. Will I hit four? Five? In many ways, I'm actually even more excited about seeing it again than I was to see it last night.

That's a good movie, man.

"Only Sith think in absolutes."

This is the worst Phillies team I have ever seen.

If you are my friend, then you will tackle me to the ground and turn the TV off the next time you see me watching this team.

Today's question: what should I do with the $340 that I save next year by not renewing my season tickets? Discuss.
